It’s not yet March but in at least one small quarter of Cheshire – spring has well and truly arrived
Local family and child photographer, Kari Sellars, visited the National Trust’s Hare Hill Gardens, near Prestbury, during the half-term holidays – on a day of nature discovery – and captured some beautiful images in the gardens and woodland.
Nile and Emily in search of creepy crawly creatures amongst the snowdrops.. . . the first bug find of the day was a ladybird . . . . . . which of course was carefully put back from where it it was found . . .As it’s Hare Hill Gardens we’re confident Nile had found one of the many hares to be found in the woodland.Found, the first frog of the day . . . you’ll have to look closely . . . he’s well hidden!Nile gets closer to the bug actionEmily finds her first daffodil . . . or is that a narcissus?. . . and just look at all the snowdrops . . .. . . and of course it wouldn’t be spring without crocus . . .
Of the many gardens, open to the public in Cheshire the National Trust’s Hare Hill Gardens between Prestbury and Alderley, must be one of the most attractive – owing to its compact size, ease of exploration – and accessibility.
Over the coming weeks you’ll see the rhododendrons and azaleas starting to take over from the early spring flowers – and if it’s wild birds that float your boat you’re sure to discover a multitude of species from the woodland bird hide.
