Quarry Bank will reopen to visitors on Monday, 11th March
The National Trust owned site had to be closed to the public after a number of members of staff fell ill to a mystery virus.
One of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites, Quarry Bank, has just undergone a £9.3m revamp but the mill had to be closed early on 2nd March after several members of staff were taken ill with sickness and diarrhoea.
A National Trust spokesperson told ilovemacc: “Quarry Bank will reopen to visitors on Monday 11 March. Due to a high level of staff illness we made the decision to close Quarry Bank as a precaution and we have been working with partners including the local environmental health officer to investigate. We have carried out a specialist clean as an extra precautionary measure. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Quarry Bank and have appreciated everyone’s patience while we’ve worked behind the scenes to get this special place open again.”
