A Macclesfield man has been charged with assault and impersonating a police officer following an incident in Wilmslow.
Richard Bates, of no fixed address, was arrested on Saturday 13 April following an incident near to Dean Drive, involving a 14-year-old boy from Handforth, which had occurred at around 5.30 pm.
Following his arrest, Bates was charged with assault by beating and impersonating a police constable.
The Bates appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 April, in answer to the charges.
He was released on conditional bail to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Monday 29 April.
