Police were called out to an area of Macclesfield Forest on Sunday afternoon when a man’s body was found by walkers.
Part of Clark Lane at the junction with the Leather’s Smithy pub was closed off as officers investigated.
Cheshire Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokeswoman said: “At approximately 2.40 pm on June 2, police were called to an area of Macclesfield Forest following reports of a body being found in the woods. The body is believed to be an adult male. The death is not believed to be suspicious but officers have been working at the scene to establish the circumstance.”
