Pott Shrigley Church School will be opening its doors to prospective parents of all year groups on Wednesday 16th October from 9.30-11.30am.
Head teacher Joanne Bromley describes the school as unique ‘I’ve been head for a full year now and can honestly say there’s no school like it for miles around – the mixed age teaching is tailored to our pupils’ needs and the children benefit enormously from our mission to learn outside the classroom each and every week. From forest school, led by qualified practitioners in private woodland, to regular trips encompassing local museums, landmarks, sacred places and cultural activities as befit our current topic. Our offering is unique amongst Cheshire schools’.
The idyllic rural school currently situated just 6 miles from Macclesfield recently benefited from the addition of a new outdoor adventure play area, keeping the children active during break times and has also just purchased a new school minibus ensuring regular trips will remain on the timetable.
Chair of governors, Jane Langdon added ‘During our recent Ofsted inspection the school was awarded a ‘good’ with the report describing the school ‘’A good introduction to school life’’ and “A safe, inclusive, supportive environment” both of which really sum up what we aim for here.’
The school currently has a full intake in reception and year one but varying capacity at other levels in the school. For those unable to make this date please contact the School Office on 01625 573 260 to arrange another date.
