The Royal Cheshire Show 2018 has to be one of the best ever – in fact there’s so much going on you’ll be hard pressed to cram everything in during one single day.
The family-friendly event celebrates the agricultural heritage ingrained within the local community and with exhibitions, mouth-watering demonstrations and exhilarating performances, the Show promises visitors a great day out in the heart of Cheshire’s countryside.
This year, the Delamere Dairy Main Ring will feature quad-bike stuntman, Paul Hannam, from North Devon, who will put on a stellar display of precision riding, multiple roll stunt quad and trick riding.
Visitors will also be able to experience the excitement of a day at the races condensed into Shetland Pony size with the second headline Delamere Dairy Main Ring attraction, “The Shetland Pony Grand National”.
If you’re looking to entertain family, friends or clients a Royal Cheshire County Show VIP Marquee will fit the bill perfectly. Brand new for 2020, just four spacious 3m x 3m VIP Marquees will be available to hire for up to eight people. Prominently positioned facing the main ring with a small private garden area, the marquees will provide the perfect entertainment package.
The Show plays host to hundreds of competition classes for livestock, including pigs, cattle, sheep and dairy goats, as they all compete for the many coveted trophies available. Classes are also available for light and heavy horses, show jumping, rare breeds of livestock, poultry, pygmy goats, pigeons, cavies, rabbits and dogs.
Amongst a jam-packed schedule of competitions, The Agri-Centre is a must-see experience for those who wish to learn how food is produced by Cheshire farmers with local farmers feeding calves, holding milking and sheep shearing demonstrations, along with many other presentations including veterinary care, butchery, ice cream making and bread making.
After a successful Show debut in 2019, the Market of Makers is back for visitors to explore the very best unique, artisan and home-made products crafted by an array of skilful creators including artists, musicians, bakers, producers, designers and creators.
Inside the Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre, visitors can watch multi-Michelin star and 5/5 AA Rosette winning Chef, Author and Restaurateur, Jean-Christophe Novelli put on a mouth-water demonstration of culinary expertise. Ticketholders will also be able to taste Cheshire’s finest locally sourced produce inside the Roberts Bakery Hall which hosts local, regional and national producers and purveyors of fine food under two huge marquees.
Rob Davenport, Show Director of The Royal Cheshire County Show, commented: “We are proud to organise this fantastic event which attracts a crowd of thousands annually from across Cheshire and beyond to experience the many interesting and fascinating aspects of farming and rural life. This year, guests will be able to browse unique handcrafted products at the Market of Makers, watch exhilarating attractions inside our brand-new VIP Marquees and view mouth-watering culinary demonstrations by our celebrity chefs – it’s all about The Royal Cheshire County Show!”
