Animal rescue specialists were called in to help a horse that became stuck ‘up to its neck’ in mud on a Cheshire field.
Firefighters from Alsager were joined by specialist animal rescue crews from Bollington and Knutsford shortly after 10am today (June 1) to reports a horse was trapped.
The 15-hand horse, known as Tommy, has now been safely rescued from Chance Hall Lane in Scholar Green and ,having been checked over by the vet, was reunited with his concerned owner.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters were called to a farm in Chance Hall Lane in Scholar Green following reports of a horse stuck up to its neck in mud.
