Been offered a cheap electric bike recently?

If you’ve been offered an electric bike over the Christmas period there’s a possibility it had been stolen.

Sometime between 10 pm on Wednesday 23 December and 11.30 am on Thursday 24 December an outbuilding at an address in the Flatts Lane area of Kettleshulme was broken into and five electric bikes, along with a white gold wedding ring, were taken.

The electric bikes – similar to the one pictured above – were three medium green Scott eRide Genius 920, one large blue Scott eRide Genius 910 and one large green Scott eRide Genius 920.

Cheshire Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time to come forward.

Police Constable Mark Stringer said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible. As part of my investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid our enquiries.”

“I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they have seen some of the stolen bikes for sale, or been approached about buying them. I’d ask anyone with any information, no matter how small to contact the team here at Macclesfield on 101 quoting IML 881041 or report it to us via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report

Information can also be provided through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or report it via https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously .
