Van seized following suspicious behaviour

Greater Manchester Police have seized a white van believed to be linked to suspicious behaviour in Macclesfield, Poynton and Wilmslow.

As previously reported, Macclesfield residents have reported seeing a white van travelling around the town believed to be occupied by two men seeking to steal dogs.

No actual thefts have been reported but police confirmed they are looking into these reports. The van, which was seized in Greater Manchester, will form part of these inquiries.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “We are aware of social media posts raising concerns about a white transit van acting suspiciously in the Tytherington, Poynton and Wilmslow areas.

“We are looking into these concerns and the van has been seized by our colleagues at Greater Manchester Police for not being insured.”
