Barnaby Update

May has arrived, the greening of Spring is all around, and with that some exciting new updates from Barnaby Festival!

Firstly, the new Programme Director, Carol Whitehead, FRSA. Carol is a communications expert with over twenty years in publishing and brand promotions and organising events of all shapes and sizes from 8 to 8000 in the U.K. and overseas. She also leads the Zebra Partnership, an agency bringing together talented freelancers, and is an advocate of women’s rights, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Carol will be overseeing the delivery and promotion of the programme for 2021, and is also working to develop Barnaby Festival’s plans for the future. You can follow Carol on Twitter on @Zebra_Carol and email her at Carol@barnabyfestival.org.uk

Secondly, a number of new trustees have joined the Barnaby board after the recent recruitment call. With a fantastic range of skills and expertise, enthusiasm and energy, the trustees are crucial in supporting Barnaby, and ensuring everyone can come out to play for many years to come. Lastly, but not leastly, under the stewardship of Carol and the trustees, the new brand of Barnaby Bright!. Inspired by the traditional poem ‘Barnaby Bright! Barnaby Bright! Longest day and shortest night!’ which featured on a postcard as a longer poem by Nick Asbury during the very first Barnaby Festival,

Barnaby Bright! signals programmes and events in between full-fat festival years. #barnabybrightevents

Barnaby Festival will be back in 2022 – this year Barnaby will be celebrated with a collection of very special midsummer events.
