The Rural Crime Team posted on Facebook: “We’re still out and in Pott Shrigley, I’ve just arrested two males from the Greater Manchester area, for Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply and one of them (the driver) for providing a positive drugs wipe.
“This came about after a farmer reported people in his field running after his livestock.
“As we arrived the car came down the single track road and came face to face with us. Bad timing for them, but not as bad as their decision making.
“They’re off to custody and their car has been seized for being used in crime.
“A great big thank you to the officers from Macclesfield Police who came to assist us with the searches.
“It’s really important that we support our remote rural communities as even this suspicious incident has led to a couple of arrests and our rural roads being safer.
“The other vehicles at the location dispersed very quickly too, but most were from the wider Manchester area.”
