Mottram Hall country hotel wants to offer glamping accommodation and has applied to Cheshire East Council for listed building consent for the tents between May and September each year.
A design and access statement submitted with the application on behalf of the hotel at Mottram St Andrew states: “There are three types of glamping accommodation together with a Tipee food and drink unit and a chill out/pamper tent.
“The glamping accommodation will be located within the grounds to the east of the main hall.”
The area will cover 660 sqm. of floorspace.
The planning document continues: “The approach has been to set the accommodation with a reasonable amount of space between each unit.
“Although food and drink and pamper units would be immediately available, all the other facilities of the health resort would be available to the guests.”
According to the application, the single storey glamping units would be small in scale and size and set in the grounds of the hall.
They would be partially screened from the main hall.
“There would be no adverse impact on the soft landscaping at the resort,” states the report, adding the units are all high quality.
The application, number 21/3399M, can be viewed on the Cheshire East website and members of the public have until September 9 to submit comments.
It will be decided by a planning officer under delegated authority.
