Emergencies only at Macclesfield GP’s

Park Green Surgery, at Waters Green Medical Centre, has requested its patients to only contact them if they require ‘urgent attention’

Six of Macclesfield’s GP practices are based at the medical centre on Sunderland Street, under the Macclesfield Primary Care Network, but only Park Green surgery has been hit with severe staff shortages owing to Covid absences.

A statement from the surgery states: “Due to Covid absences amongst staff members Park Green Surgery is currently operating on an emergency basis.

“Please only contact them if you feel your situation requires urgent attention.

“Thank you for your support.”

Latest data from Public Health England, indicates a total of 106 positive test results in Macclesfield Centre during the seven-day period ending on January 14.

This figure is down by 50 per cent from the previous week.
