This year’s Art Fair Cheshire will feature a sunny display of postcard size sunflowers created by local school children.
Budding artists from 7 schools have created over 1,000 postcards which will be displayed to great effect outside the Assembly Room gallery at the top of the stairs at Macclesfield Town Hall during the Art Fair.

More on sunshine
East Cheshire Hospice will soon be launching a fundraising campaign to fit solar panels on the roof of their building. The panels have been costed at £562.50 each and the Hospice will fit as many panels as possible with the money raised.
Rachel Allcock, Income Generation Director, explains;
“As anyone who has received support from the Hospice will know, the wrap around, holistic care we give to our community is only possible because our nurses have the time and resources to make every moment count. With energy prices rising, solar panels will cut our costs, which means more future donations will go directly to patient care. Installing solar panels is part of a proactive and long-term solution to the increasing costs and care demands that the Hospice faces.
A wider benefit to solar panels is the positive environmental impact. Using a renewable energy source means that we will reduce our carbon emissions, which is fast becoming a priority here at East Cheshire Hospice.
We aim to be a sustainable healthcare system that respects and protects the environment, whilst continuing to improve the quality of life and care for those in our community with life-limiting illnesses.”
Keep an eye out for the launch of the campaign via social media very soon!
100% volunteer led
Did you know that Art Fair Cheshire is planned, organised and managed entirely by volunteers? Many volunteers have a passion for art, are supporters of East Cheshire Hospice – and often both! Others find volunteering a great way to meet new people and feel the benefits of giving back to the community.
As well as organising the event, you are probably aware that we have an army of volunteers who help to keep the event running during its time at Macclesfield Town Hall. As we work on finalising our volunteer requirements for this year’s exhibition we’d love you to consider joining us to help the event raise as much money as possible for East Cheshire Hospice.
Our website will shortly have links to sign up for roles including gallery stewards, café servers, welcome greeters and more. Visit www.theartfair.org.uk/volunteer
