The competition involved 178 national events with over 1000 teams competing.
Each team comprised six year-eight students – with 6400 students participating in the competition this year.
The top five leaderboard schools who made the final are considered to be amongst the top 0.5% of the best young engineers in the UK.
The Fallibroome team comprised:
- Grace Hartley
- Tanvi Kutty
- Ralph Gibbon
- Leo De Jager
- Irma Bogentoft
- Han Voon
By getting to the finals Fallibroome had already won a £250 prize for the school and the students were given the opportunity to work towards The Industrial Cadets STEM Bronze Award during the competition – the Fallibroome students all achieved this.
Fallibroome impressed the eight judges, who represented different engineering disciplines, with both their design and their presentation resulting in Fallibroome being awarded 1st Prize, a framed certificate, a trophy and a £1000 prize for the school.
Fallibroome are now the Faraday Challenge Winners 2023.
