Sunderland Street car crash

An apparent contretemps between the drivers of a Ford Fiesta and a Range Rover resulted in one of the vehicles crashing into a Sunderland Street shop window.

Two police cars and an ambulance attended with paramedics treating several minor injuries resulting mainly from flying debris, from the crashed Ford, hitting pedestrians.

An investigation is underway but, as regular drivers ourselves, we’re aware that an increasing number of drivers appear to be ignoring amber or even red traffic lights.

Happening just beyond the Pickford Street/Sunderland Street junction traffic lights traffic chaos ensued resulting in a gridlock on the streets for several hours.
