Over £3000 was raised for East Cheshire NHS Charity by runners at this year’s Macclesfield Running Festival.
Participants gathered at Macclesfield Leisure Centre on Sunday 29th October to take part in 5K, 10K and half marathon races.
Local Charity, East Cheshire NHS Charity partnered with the event to help raise awareness of the work they do in the local community. Runners, including staff and former patients, took part in the event in support of the charity.
Anabell Platt, Sensor Sister on the Same Day Emergency Care unit at Macclesfield Hospital said, “I found the experience absolutely amazing, I never thought I’d be able to do anything like a 10k! The buzz of the whole thing was totally epic! I am so proud to have raised £705 from such generous people for East Cheshire!”
Lily Preston, Fundraising and Events Manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity, who was at the event said, “It was great to see so many staff and businesses come together on the day to support their local NHS charity. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated”.
