Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, has written to the Chief Executive of Bellway Homes asking how the business is intending to address the outstanding issues identified in the safety audit relating to Broken Cross junction.
From discussions with local residents and business owners on the junction, it’s clear there are still serious concerns, affecting both road users and pedestrians.
David has been in regular contact with Cheshire East Council from the beginning of the project, raising concerns over traffic flow confusion and the need for better communication with local residents.
Bellway Homes are responsible for the costs of implementing the necessary changes needed at the junction to address the issues raised in the safety audit – in order for the junction to pass this important audit.
David said “From regular communication with Cheshire East Council regarding the junction, it is clear that Bellway Homes have the responsibility to make the necessary changes to the Broken Cross junction to ensure it passes its safety audit. Local residents and business owners are right to expect that the outstanding issues at the junction are properly addressed. I urge Bellway Homes to take forward the necessary actions as a priority. I look forward to meeting with their team in the near future.”
