East Cheshire NHS Charity’s annual pancake race returns to Macclesfield for 2024.
Teams from businesses, clubs and organisations across East Cheshire are invited to flip their way to victory and raise money for East Cheshire NHS Charity – your local NHS charity.
The Shrove Tuesday event, which this year falls on February 13th, will be hosted by ITV Granada Reports’ funny man Paul Crone and will see competitors sprinting up and down Mill Street while tossing pancakes in frying pans.
Paul, who hosted the return of the event last year said: “I was delighted to compere the return of the pancake race last year. It was a terrific atmosphere and certainly provided many funny moments.
“I want to encourage as many of you to take part in this year’s bigger and better event and raise important funds for your local NHS charity.”
Registration is £30 for a team of four people and multiple teams per organisation are allowed (and encouraged).
Lily Preston, East Cheshire NHS Charity Fundraising Manager, said: “The pancake race is a brilliant community event which brings local businesses and organisations together to raise vital funds for our incredible healthcare services.
“The event made a fantastic return last year after three years and we’re planning to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever, so we want as many local businesses and organisations as possible to enter and we’re hoping for a good crowd to turn out and spectate on the day.”
There will be lots of prizes up for offer, including an award for the best fancy dress. whilst local radio station Silk FM will be on hand to keep the crowds entertained.
