Macclesfield-based skirt manufacturers Elkin – launched a collection of contemporary tweed and woven garments to coincide with London Fashion Week.
Established in 1956, the family business which operates from Poole Street Industrial Estate, is known for its hand-crafted pleated skirts created with the UK’s only steam auto-clave machines, which create its trademark sharp pleats.
The businesses’ innovations have led to manufacture for designers including Paul Smith, Les Comme des Garcons and British sub-culture fashion brand, Underground.
A Spring Tweed Collection headlines a new luxury range, with A-line and mini-kilt silhouettes, which are available from www.arthurelkin.co.uk
A maternity kilt range is part of the first collection – a concept new to the market due to the expert tailoring required.
Elkin has always been dedicated to creating garments that reflect the rich heritage and culture of Britain.
