Plans have been submitted for an apartment block and retail store on Mill Lane in Macclesfield.
Serenity Developments Ltd has applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to demolish the property, once home to Bailey’s toyshop and petrol station.
A new building would comprise a retail store on the ground floor and thirteen flats, eleven two-bedroom homes and two three-bed homes, on the upper three floors.
The site currently comprises a two-storey former office block with car park – previously a tool-hire depot.
The application states there are currently 13 car parking spaces on the site and these would be retained for the new development.
The application, number 24/2406M, can be viewed on the planning portal on the Cheshire East Council website.
The closing date for comments is August 7 and, according to the council’s website, the proposal is due to be considered by the northern planning committee on August 21.
