A team from Specsavers Macclesfield are aiming to help fund cancer research doing 100 squats a day in November.
The team of 19 are taking part in the thigh-burning challenge in support of loved ones, friends and colleagues who have been affected by cancer and to raise much-needed funds for Stand up to Cancer.
Every squat completed and every pound raised by the team, will help to fund research into new tests and treatments for cancer patients.
Specsavers Macclesfield store director, Angharad Butler said ‘The challenge is so much more than just physical strength and endurance, it’s a great opportunity to promote good health whilst raising funds to help the local community.
‘Whilst some of us are regular gym goers or play sport, not all are and I can confirm that each day, we’re all having to dig deep to hit 100. We’re more than halfway through the month now and it hurts just as much as it did on the first day. When it gets particularly tough, I just tell myself that at least it’s not burpees!’
Stand Up To Cancer speeds up life-saving cancer research by taking developments in the lab and accelerating them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients who need them.
