Specsavers Macclesfield has raised £768 for cancer research charity Stand Up To Cancer.
The team of 19 launched a month-long fundraising challenge where they completed 100 thigh-burning squats a day to raise funds for life-saving cancer research.
The challenge was in support of loved ones, friends and colleagues who have been affected by cancer.
Specsavers Macclesfield raised a total of £768 from a mixture of online and in-store donations.
Every squat completed and every pound raised by the team will help accelerate research into new tests and treatments for cancer patients.
Angharad Butler, store director at Specsavers Macclesfield, says: ‘We are delighted to have raised more than £750 for Stand Up to Cancer as it’s a charity that is close to our heart. It was a great way for us to keep active while supporting an extremely worthwhile cause in the local community.
‘Hitting 100 squats a day was a challenge, especially as we have a mixture of fitness levels amongst the team, but I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved, and we hope our donation will help support life-saving research.’
Stand Up to Cancer speeds up life-saving cancer research by taking developments in the lab and accelerating them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients who need them.
