Another very successful annual Macclesfield Castle Rotary Club Swimathon took place last Sunday 16th March.
Some 35 teams taking part swimming 5,788 Lengths – nearly 145 Kilometers/90 miles to raise money for charity.
Final figures are not yet available, but the organisers are hoping the 185 swimmers and their sponsors have raised upwards of £5,000.
Teams, from many of the local schools and charity groups, were cheered on by their supporters from the leisure centre balcony.
All competitors received certificates from the sponsor Beaverbrooks and were thanked, by the Worshipful Mayor of Macclesfield Cllr Sandy Livingstone and local MP Tim Roca, for their tremendous efforts to support activities in the community.
