Following a sellout show at Cinemac, local favourites Seafever will headline Macclesfield in May on Saturday, May 3rd.
Formed as an indie supergroup in 2020, Sea Fever features New Order members, Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham – together with Iwan Gronow, a former bass player for Johnny Marr and member of Haven. The band is completed by Section 25’s Beth Cassidy and drummer, Elliot Barlow, formerly of Brix and The Extricated.
Joining Sea Fever on the stage will be Kyle Falconer.
Joining the stage on Sunday 4th May will be the victorious Macclesfield FC, there to meet fans and regaling them with tales of the highlights of the last year. Robbie Savage steered The Silkmen to promotion to the National League North and Northern Premier League Champions, with six matches in hand.
Hosting duties will be handled by DJ/radio presenter Laura Beth, the first female match day announcer in the English football league, along with Mike Wain from Silk FM a long time supporter who provides match day coverage for the Silkmen.
Road closures will be place: Saturday 3rd May & Sunday 4th May from 8 am – 11 pm in the Market Place, from the Junction of King Edward Street to the Junction of Mill Street Mall, Jordangate, from the junction of Cumberland Street to the junction of King Edward Street and Chestergate, from the junction of Churchill Way to the junction of Market Place.
Entrance to the festival site will be via Chestergate. Note: due to licensing restrictions alcohol cannot be brought into the space and bag searches will be place. But don’t worry, RedWillow and Bollington Brewery will provide a bar service and there’ll be plenty of food options.
VIP passes are available giving access to the Town Hall toilets and Proper Sound’s VIP cocktail bar – plus additional live music from The Dopes, Far North and yet more DJ’s.
Macclesfield in May is free to attend, thanks to community funding from Kicker Starter, the many sponsors and Macclesfield Town Council.
