Kindhearted staff from AstraZeneca showed their generosity this week.
The A-Z staff dropped off a huge toy donation at the Children’s Ward at Macclesfield General Hospital.
The civic minded trio, Sanjay Vaja, Siân Alderton and Sarah Booth, who all work at Alderley Park, were accompanied by Sarah’s husband Tom – and their two daughters Grace and Lucy – and Molly the therapy dog.
Molly and her owner Siân can often be seen at the hospital, where Molly regularly brightens up the day for staff, patients, and visitors alike.
Sanjay said: “We all live locally and Macclesfield General is our local hospital and we’re keen to support it in any way we can.
“We’ve done a few toy collection drives in the past in support of the Children’s Ward and this year we decided that it would great to do it again, so Siân, Sarah and I decided to work together to get the word out among our colleagues, who were wonderfully generous in their response.
Lily Preston, Fundraising and Events Manager at the East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: “We’re so grateful to Sanjay, Siân and Sarah for taking the time out to organise this, and to all their generous colleagues for donating all the wonderful toys and games they dropped off.
“The people who work at AstraZeneca have always been very generous in supporting the Trust, and our colleagues in the wards really appreciate everything they’ve done, and continue to do, to help us.
“I know my colleagues in the Children’s Ward are really grateful for this lovely donation and we’ve no doubt the children on the ward will have lots of fun with all the toys and games.”
