Virgin Atlantic is expanding its programme at Manchester Airport with new flights to the US including direct services to Boston, San Francisco and additional flights to Barbados.
Starting in Summer 2017, the new routes will be run alongside Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture partner, US carrier Delta Air Lines.
The expansion marks the first time an airline has offered direct flights between Manchester and San Francisco, with the service set to operate three times per week. The Boston route, meanwhile, will operate twice weekly.
Through Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines at Manchester Airport, business travellers and holidaymakers in the North West are also able to fly to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
Both the San Francisco and the Boston services will use the A330 aircraft.
