We omitted to mention that there was an earlier plan that was presented to Macclesfield Borough Council in 2005. This was Wilson Bowden`s response to a competitive pitch between four town redevelopment design practices.
This was done at a huge cost to all the applicants. Wilson Bowden went on to win with their pitch, however, the scheme they presented and won with, was vastly superior to the one they have said they will now deliver.
In effect the designs, they won the competitive bid with, have been substituted for a cheaper and unsustainable version
