The Churches Conservation Trust are touring a specially tailored stand up show around some of their churches – and its coming to Christ Church on Friday 4th November.
Award-winning comedian Tim Fitzhigham plays Will Kemp and tells an extraordinary tale of jousting egos and morris dancing (see BBC News report
here). It’s played to rave reviews around the country as part of the Shakespeare 400 anniversary celebrations. More from Tim about 17th century rivalry
here.
Tim has adapted the show for drafty churches with uncomfortable seating, little staging, electricity or creature comforts! We’re intrigued to see how it will work – and its also a great way to test a one off event like this, working on a tight budget with volunteer support.
Tickets are £12/ £10 concessions (suitable for 14+) in person from Visitor Information Centre at Town Hall or
online.
The show is under an hour long and there’ll be a small sponsored bar with hot drinks (it’s also a fundraiser for The CCT), blankets should be available on the door but you know the drill – come well wrapped up, with cushion!
