A Salford man has been charged in relation to a serious incident in Handforth thanks to support from members of the public.
Last week Cheshire Police released an appeal to trace two men in relation to a serious incident near Handforth where Cheshire Police officers were attacked with a sledgehammer.
Thanks to information received from members of the public Craig Cox, 27, was arrested at an address in Preston in the early hours of Saturday 19 October.
Cox, who is from the Salford area, has since been charged with Affray, Aggravated vehicle taking, Conspiracy to commit a burglary and Conspiracy to cause an explosion likely to endanger life.
Inspector Claire Jesson said: “I would like to thank the public for all of the information that they provided, which helped to lead to Cox’s arrest.”
Cox has been remanded in custody in relation to the incident and is set to appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates on Monday 21 November 2016.
The second man wanted in relation to the Handforth Incident, Michael Martin, remains outstanding at the current time.
