Last week the daffodils, magnolias, camellias and helibores at Bodnant Garden were still slumbering.
With just a few days of warm weather the whole 80 acres of garden and woodland has been awakened and transformed.
Only one and a half hours from Macclesfield lies one of the most spectacular gardens you’re ever likely to encounter.
What’s more, the gardens are constantly changing – as different flowers, shrubs and trees come into leaf and bloom.
And if our native birds hold a fascination for you, look no further. I’ve never encountered so many blue, great and coal tits in one place – eagerly feeding at the numerous feeding platforms in preparation for their coming broods. And at least three different pairs of robins paid us a visit during our explorations – checking us out for tidbits. Next time I’ll take a pack of mealworms and have them eating out of my hand!
Whatever the time of year – Bodnant is guaranteed to offer up a number of nature’s great surprises.
Bodnant Garden, which is owned by the National Trust, lies just off the A55 near Llandudno
