Three men have been arrested following the death of a man found lying in a Cheshire road.
The 19-year-old, who has not been named, was found in Bullocks Lane, Sutton, Macclesfield, at about 18:45 GMT on Wednesday. He was taken to hospital but sadly died.
Police said he had injuries consistent with an assault and post-mortem tests were being carried out.
Three men, two aged 22 and one aged 21, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in police custody.
Insp Steve Griffiths said police “do not believe this was a random attack”.
Macclesfield Neighbourhood Police Inspector Steve Griffiths said: “This is clearly a shocking incident for the local community, but I would like to reassure people that three men have been arrested and are currently in police custody. There has been speculation in the community that the victim may have been involved in a hit and run but at this stage we do not believe this to be the case.
