Macclesfield’s MP, David Rutley, recently paid a visit to a local café that’s been given a new lease of life.
West Park Café had sat vacant for several years before friends Louis Dixon and Ben Fraser took on the lease earlier this year.
Following a deep-clean and repaint, the café opened in May. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength, becoming a well-established spot for visitors to West Park and employing a ten-strong team of staff – all from Macclesfield.
David met with Louis and Ben, to discuss their future plans for the café and their plan to make it a hub for the local community – including hosting live music, community fundraisers, treasure hunts and sports clubs – and a mini Christmas market in December.
Speaking after his visit, David said, “West Park is a much-loved local asset. Thanks to their entrepreneurial spirit, Louis and Ben have turned West Park Café into a thriving business, providing jobs and services for local people. It was good to hear about the exciting plans they have to make the Café a real community hub, and I wish them every success going forward.”
