Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson and his partner Debbie Stanley have been forced to liquidate their Prestbury shop after running up debts of of £37,000.
The actor – who’s set to reprise his role last Jim McDonald in the hit soap – and Debbie, opened Prestbury’s Farm Shop eight years ago.
Charlie, 58, was a hands-on owner, and could regularly be seen serving customers from behind the counter.
Although the deli has ceased business, Charlie and Debbie plan to continue to run their catering business.
A message on Prestbury’s Farm Shop’s website reads: “Prestbury farm shop has now closed. Thank you to all our loyal customers who visited us over the years. We are still doing our outside catering so please contact us for more details. Thank you, Debbie & Charlie.”
