PFA called in to The Moss

The Professional Footballers’ Association has been called in to resolve a dispute with two Macclesfield Town players who claim they’ve not been paid money owing to them.

With the appointment of Sol Campbell before Christmas it looked to be a fresh, new start for the Silkmen.

However, the club have been hit with some financial worry as it was revealed that they have failed to pay the wages of two unnamed players. 

The club had noted this and released a statement regarding the unpaid wages but they are yet to resolve the issue. 

It isn’t the first time this has happened to the club, as the exact same thing happened last year in January when the entire squad were not paid on time. During the January transfer window the Silkmen signed nine players.

The two players in dispute have gone to the PFA (Professional Footballers Association) so they can help with the matter and the club are believed to be dealing with the situation internally.  

Macclesfield are 23rd in League Two, two points off safety behind Morecambe.
