Police renew appeal for information regarding fatal Alderley collision

Cheshire Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision in Alderley Edge on Monday 24^th November.

Sophie Spencer from Macclesfield died after the car she was driving, a silver Peugeot 206, collided with a tree close to the Wizard Pub on Macclesfield Road.

24-year-old Sophie was travelling in the direction of Macclesfield on the B5087 when the collision occurred at approximately 7.30pm.

Investigating Officer PC Paul Burke said: I would specifically like to appeal to the driver of a vehicle that was in close proximity to Sophie′s car when the collision occurred and did not stop at the scene.

“The vehicle was travelling in the same direction as Sophie at the time of the collision and I believe that they may be able to assist us with our enquiries.

“I am also keen to speak to the drivers of a white BMW 1 series and a silver colored Audi A3, which were both seen in the area shortly before the collision occurred.”
