Staff at East Cheshire NHS Trust are enjoying a special week of gestures to mark the trust’s very first Staff Appreciation Week, underpinned by the theme, ‘We love what you do – thank-you!’
Developed by the trust’s Executive leadership team to show gratitude for employees’ ongoing hard work and commitment,‘Appreciation Week’ kicked off with deliveries of tasty treats to 69 areas and departments across the trust’s three sites.
Continuing with the theme, each day offered a daily communication focusing on one of the five ways to wellbeing, a set of evidence-based, easy steps to improve how you feel each day. These were supported by Executive visits to wards and podcasts themed around wellbeing, appreciation and LGBT+ history month which takes place throughout February.
Ged Murphy, CEO at East Cheshire NHS Trust said; “This week is our way of showing our valued employees how much they are appreciated whilst really taking the time to support their health and wellbeing. We recognise the pressures our staff face and we couldn’t do what we do for our patients without them. We want to ensure they feel the best they can feel so they can keep doing the great work they’re doing.
“The feedback from this week has been extremely positive and we’re already planning our next staff wellbeing initiatives.”
