Members of the Macclesfield Conservative Association showed their strong support for the much valued work of the Francis House Children’s Hospice, with a donation of over £500 to help support its important work.
Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions and also provides support and friendship for the whole family. The flexible child centred service provided by the children’s hospice means that it is able to support families when they are at a low ebb or facing difficult times.
Local Conservatives raised the funds at their annual Christmas Carol Concert, which featured Poynton’s “Cantata” duo, as well as seasonal readings and carols, and was held at the beautiful Adlington Hall. They chose to support the local Didsbury based charity because, as their Chairman, John Bowden, said “Francis House does wonderful work and Christmas really is a time for children and their parents”.
Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, along with John Bowden presented Lucy Thompson, events fundraiser from Francis House Children’s Hospice, with a cheque for the hospice shortly after the Christmas event.
Lucy Thompson said, “The fundraising team at Francis House Children’s Hospice would like to thank Macclesfield Conservative Association for choosing to support the hospice at their Christmas Carol Concert.” She continued, “Francis House has recently doubled in size with a seven bedroom extension for teenagers and young adults with life-limiting conditions, giving them a place to relax, and spend time with their friends in a safe comfortable environment so the £540 donation will make a great difference.”
