Macclesfield assistant manager Glyn Chamberlain hailed his side following their 4-2 win over Gillingham.
The visitors raced into a three-goal lead thanks to a goal from Ross Draper and a double from Colin Daniel.
Danny Jackman`s strike gave the Gills hope but Emile Sinclair scored early in the second half to ensure Joe Martin`s strike was only a consolation.
“It`s been a terrific performance here from all the players,” said Chamberlain. “It was a great opening 20 minutes when we played some terrific attacking football and deservedly got the goals.
“To score when we did just after half-time to make it four was fantastic and it was tremendous attacking football which we`re capable of, there`s no doubt about it.
“This result puts everything to bed safety wise and points wise – it doesn`t matter what everybody else does now.”
