If you’re as old as me, you may just remember the 1261 Charter Year celebrations in Macclesfield when the town remembered the 500th anniversary of its Royal Charter.
Next weekend, Macclesfield will be enjoying a new festival named after the Charter Year – and the 1261 Festival is aiming to be a celebration of Macclesfield’s creativity and community.
There’ll be live music, workshops, exhibitions, activities, street theatre, walking tours and more.
As part of the festival weekend, Saturday 29th June will see the One World Parade, heading through town, showcasing community groups from every corner of Macc.
From Treacle to Silk, Pandas to Potatoes, and Mayall to Curtis there’ll be everything that makes us Macclesfield – so let’s put on a bit of a show.
