Rambling on

East Cheshire Rambler Jennie led a great walk from Hartington Market Place which was well worth the drive!

The weather was ‘kind’ only a small smattering of rain drops as we set off.  An easy/moderate 5.9 miles with only 1 small climb which we took slowly – there was time to admire the views!

This beautiful walk started and ended in the pretty Peak District village of Hartington. We took full advantage of the cafes, pubs and shops at the end of the walk. Plus plenty of money exchanged hands in the famous Cheese Shop!

The Beresford Tea Room is recommended! Delicious carrot cake, scones, home made soup and hot buttery tea cakes! Well worth a visit!

The route took us along the sparkling River Dove through some of the finest lime stone dales in the area, including Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale and Biggin Dale, before returning to the village on quiet country lanes with far-reaching views over the surrounding hills.
