Buxton Opera House is celebrating the Aviva Tour of Britain passing through Buxton on Friday by offering customers ‘2 for 1’ on selected shows. A huge array of events, taking place from now until the end of December are up for grabs in the sale, starting with a stage adaptation of P.G Wodehouse’s 1920s comedy Jeeves and Wooster, on this week, and finishing with the traditional family pantomime Aladdin in December.
The ‘Gone in 60 Minutes’ sale starts as soon as the last cyclist has passed the theatre, (estimated to be around 11.50am) and as the title suggests customer have just one hour to take up the offer by quoting ‘cycle 15’, when buying tickets at the Box Office or online.
Leading up to the cyclists arriving, and in keeping with the Jeeves and Wooster theme, the theatre is partying 1920s style, with music from the decade played on the forecourt from 11am, Friday morning. An open-air bar with lemonade and Pimm’s will keep crowds refreshed while they wait for the procession. Those picking a spot around the theatre should also look out for the cast of Jeeves and Wooster, who will be joining in the revelry in costume along with Opera House characters from the 1920s.
